Through swimming with the Lifeguards (Heemstede) I got to know Gijs de Vries. I have been really inspired by his will and stamina to keep his Parkinsons at bay, every single day. He recently underwent a DBS operation, a procedure which I am sure was not possible without the money that has gone into research. Gijs and his team have collected a lot of money over the years to fund just this type of research. I am proud to have been allowed to join his team and would like to ask anyone to donate to this good cause.
